Your dog spends three supervised hours with a small, carefully matched group. We introduce them slowly, watch how they settle, play and rest, and send you an honest write-up afterwards. It costs $30 and every dog does one before starting regular daycare.

Yes. All dogs need to be up to date with their C5 vaccination, which covers kennel cough. Please send us a copy of the certificate before the trial day. We also ask that flea and worm treatments are current.

No. Desexing isn't required to join The Barkyard Club. We just ask that you let us know beforehand if your dog isn't desexed, so our team has a heads-up and can group and supervise them in the way that gives everyone the best possible day. Females in season cannot attend.

Their lead and collar with an ID tag, their own food if they are staying overnight, and any medication with written instructions. Beds, bowls, water and treats are all provided. Please leave favourite toys at home so there is nothing to guard.

Drop off in Southport between 7:00am and 9:00am and pick up between 3:00pm and 5:30pm, Monday to Friday. The day runs on a rhythm of play, adventure, rest and enrichment. Days are $65 and a trial day is required first.

Deliberately few. Groups are kept small and split by size, age and play style so every dog is genuinely supervised rather than counted. Spots are limited, which is why booking ahead matters.

Your dog joins the normal daycare rhythm through the day, then stays the night in the home rather than a kennel. Boarding is $75 per night and includes the full day of care, morning and evening exercise and daily updates.

Inside, on beds and lounges, in a home. There are no kennels, no concrete runs and no rows of crates. If your dog is crate trained and prefers their own space, bring their crate and we will set it up for them.

Yes. Photos and short video updates come through while your dog is with us, and boarding stays get a daily update. You should be able to enjoy your holiday, not wonder how they are going.

Adventures run on Tuesdays and cost $75 for the day, inclusive of the adventure itself — there is no separate outing charge. Small, closely supervised groups head out for a beach or park outing, weather permitting, with recall practice built in. If the weather turns it becomes an enrichment day at the Club instead, at the same rate.

We separate calmly and early, long before anything escalates. Groups are matched on size and play style for exactly this reason. If your dog is consistently uncomfortable in a group, we will tell you honestly and talk about whether one-on-one care suits them better.

Tell us everything on the booking form and we will be honest with you about whether we can help. Some nervous dogs thrive here with a slow introduction. Some dogs are genuinely happier with one-on-one care, and we would rather say so than take your money.

We can administer medication during daycare and boarding. Send it in its original packaging with written instructions and dosage times, and note it on the booking form so we have it on file.

Yes. Premium treats are provided through the day as part of their Barkyard experience, at no extra cost — because good dogs deserve good snacks. Treats are given in sensible amounts alongside their normal routine, and we always work to the dietary requirements, allergies and feeding instructions you give us at booking. If you would rather we gave your dog nothing at all, or only what you send in, just tell us and we will.

Let us know as early as you can so the spot can go to another dog. The $20 booking fee that secures a spot is non-refundable, and it comes off your first day when you attend.

A $20 non-refundable booking fee secures the spot, then the balance is settled on the day. Bank transfer and card are both fine. Regular clients can settle weekly if that is easier.

As far ahead as you can, especially for school holidays and long weekends when boarding fills first. Spots are limited by design because groups are kept small.

No. Reward credits cannot be redeemed towards the $30 First Trial Day. Everybody starts with the trial at full price, and your credit is there waiting for the bookings that come after it: daycare, boarding, Adventure Tuesdays and puppy sessions.
